Thank you for playing at Marrapalooza 4: Wild and Fierce and Not Bothered
This page shares vital information ahead of the event for your band, tour manager, sound tech.
Stage times / Performing times:
Your stage time is available:
AT THE SATURDAY SPREADSHEET HERE
AT THE SUNDAY SPREADSHEET HERE
These will be announced on the website ‘Clashfinder’ in the week commencing 18th May.
Please send your tech rider to the person curating your stage AND to Hannah a
t<flatfourrecords@gmail.com> with the title ‘[Your Band name] Marrapalooza Tech Rider’
to pass on to our venue in-house tech.
If you read this and take exception to your time, email us immediately.
In 99% of circumstances we cannot move any bands that are based in the North East. Touring performers’ stage times take priority due to their travel needs.
Who to speak to on the day:
Arrive at your stage at least 1 hour before your stage time.
By the day of the event your stage times sheet will be populated with:
* When you play
* Who your stage manager is and thkeir contact number
* Who your sound tech is and their contact
* Where to get your artist wristbands - your stage manager will have these.
There will also be volunteers to help on the door at each stage who can help you our team’s staff members.
Some of these details may change before the day so please check in to your spreadsheet again close to your performance time. We might be required to swap a stage manager, for instance.
In some circumstances we might need to move bands around, if so' we’ll send out a larger update, though your time is unlikely to change significantly .
Please arrive as early to the venue as possible.
Soundcheck / changeover:
Your stage time sheet will show you when load-ins and soundchecks occur at the beginning of the day. We have marked some bands as the priority for this time. If you aren’t marked as a priority, you are welcome to come down and ask to soundcheck before everything starts, but you’ll need to negotiate this with the sound tech and stage manager. (i.e. ‘It’s about 30 minutes before doors, could we quickly get some levels on our guitars please?’)
Most changeovers are 30 minutes.
If your stage is running late, your Stage Manager might ask you to play a song fewer to catch up. We do this our of respect to the bands that have travelled to us. Marrapalooza is a team effort, we don’t have the ability to accommodate any bands’ egos!
To ensure we run as smoothly as possible, please use the provided venue backline where possible. If you need to make changes or add gear, talk to your sound tech and stage manager before your changover. If you take too long to change over, your stage manager will shorten your set.
Please ensure to finish your set and give as good an opportunity to set up to the other band as you can.
Backline provided:
Each venue will have a drum core [please assume provided without snare, kick pedal and breakables and we will provide carpet but if possible, bring carpet], bass amp and guitar amp.
This is what the sound tech at the venue will see on the day to help them anticipate.
Parking:
Cumberland Arms:
A road leads up to Cumberland Arms and allows parking along the road and also in a grass verge close to the venue. Load in can be performed at a ramp at the venue rear.
The Grove:
The Grove has parking onsite in an on-site car park
Old Coal Yard:
The Old Coal Yard has on-site parking and roadside parking at the venue entrance
Cobalt Studios:
Cobalt Studios has roadside parking around the venue entrance
The Tyne Bar:
The Tyne Bar has a more challenging load in - you will need to drive down a small incline to the area outside of the venue, (Maling street) and then return up the hill to park. We recommend parking on Ford Street or Cross Street.
Do we have a guestlist?
While we’ll do what we can to help we can’t usually provide guestlist spaces to our local bands - please help us sell tickets to this event.
